Coaches are now able to register for 2014 - 2015 by filling out the online NLCA Coach Registration Form. Please note that all fields are required for submission. Please be sure to check your spam filter if you do not receive a confirmation email.

NLCA Coaches Course

Just a reminder that this year's coaches course is quickly approaching! The course will take place on October 18th from 9am-5pm and will take place at Memorial University at the engineering building in room EN 2006.

Gymnastics Clinic & Credentialling

Hello Coaches,

We are proud to announce NLCA will be holding a gymnastics clinic on March 15th!

Location: Holy Cross Elementary
Level 1 Gymnastics 10:00am – 12:25
Level 2 Gymnastics 12:45pm – 3:00pm

To attend you must reserve your spot by midnight on March 10th.
For more information, please contact the Coaching Development Director.

Do you need to be credentialed?

Coaches credentialing will take place DURING this clinic. One coach per school NEEDS to be credentialed in order for your team to be eligible to compete. Credentialing will consist of written test and a hands-on practical test. To get your paperwork and secure your time slot please contact the Judging Director


Provincial Championships

The NLCA is pleased to announce that this year's Provincial Championships will take place on May 24th, 2014 at the Jack Byrne Area! Packages for coaches will be sent out at a later date.

NLCA Charity Classic Competition

Newfoundland and Labrador Cheerleading Athletics is proud to announce details on an upcoming competition:

The 9th Annual NLCA Charity Classic Competition will be held on March 22nd, 2014 at the Newfoundland and Labrador Sports Centre (PowerPlex) in St. John’s, NL.

The Charity Classic this year is held in support of our member cheerleading teams. The donation from this event will be allocated with 1/3 of the amount going towards the NLCA Scholarship offered at the Provincial Championship Event. The remainder of the amount will go toward the NLCA Help a Team Fund. Any registered NLCA team is eligible to apply for the help a team fund, which can be used towards any cheerleading equipment the selected team needs.

Competition packages will be sent out to coaches shortly!

Coaching Course This Weekend

Coaching Theory Course: Saturday 10am-7:15pm

Practical Stunting Portion:
Sunday
Level 1: 9:30am-12:30pm
Level 2: 1:15pm-4:15pm
Level 3: 5:00pm-7:30pm

Annual General Meeting

On Sunday July 7, 2013 from 4-6pm the NLCA will be holding their Annual General Meeting (AGM). This meeting will take place at the Johnson GEO CENTRE in the Celestial Gallery.

We are looking for candidates to fill the following board vacancies:

Nominations for positions will be accepted in the first 15 minutes of the AGM (from 4 to 4:15).

About Our Club
Saltos Gymnastics and Cheer Club is the largest gymnastics and cheer club on the West Coast of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. We have approximately 350 gymnasts and cheerleaders ranging in age from 18 months to 19 years of age enrolled in various programs. Corner Brook GEMS Cheer Coach
Reporting to the Club Head Coach, the Cheer Coach is responsible for the development and implementation of a competitive and recreational cheer program for the Club. The Cheer Coach will provide all levels of expertise and technical direction to the Club, our athletes and fellow coaches. Coaching will also be required in our other programs such as gymnastics and Parkour as required

We are looking for high energy, positive individuals who can positively motivate a cheer team of all levels of abilities. Must be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with parents, fellow coaches, the Board of Directors, and the public at large. Must have 3-5 years of direct coaching experience in a competitive cheer program.Eligible candidates must be USASF certified preferably at Level 3. NCCP certification in Gymnastics is an asset.
